The Haute Route. Chamonix - Zermatt.

Probably the best known high altitude long distance traverse in the Alps.


7 - 14th April 2012

Saturday 7th Rendez vous in Châtel for easy tour and to prepare and adjust all equipment.

Sunday 8th. Start from Argentiere 1220m cable car to Grand Montets 3295m. Ski down to
Argentiere glacier 2500m and then climb Col du Chardonnet 3300m. Ski & traverse to Trient hut.

Monday 9th. Ski down to Champex 1600m then taxi to Bourg St Pierre 1600m. Climb to Valsorey hut 3030m.

Tuesday 10th. Climb Col du Sonadon 3500m and ski to Chanrion hut 2460m

Wednesday 11th. Climb Pigne D’Arolla 3796m. Night at Cabane des Vignettes 3194m.

Thursday 12th. Two uphill climbs to Cabane Berthol 3311m

Friday 13th. Climb Tete Blanche 3724m and descend to Zermatt 1600m.

Transfer back to Châtel.

Cost: 890 € / £795 per person. Included huts, hotel, taxi transfer, all meals & guide charge.
Not included: Equipment rental & drinks.
